The SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) is the global body that sets the standards for specialty coffee. Their scoring system, based on a 100-point scale, evaluates coffees based on various factors like aroma, flavour, acidity, body, aftertaste, sweetness and balance. Coffees scoring 80+ are considered specialty grade, with those scoring 86+ representing the top tier of quality and complexity.
Our most exclusive release, with only 25 boxes available. Preorder now and it will be dispatched on 12 November.
Specialty coffee starts at 80 points, and at 86 a coffee is already in the top 1% of the world. The coffees in this box score 90 and above, which is rarer still. A coffee at that level is extremely difficult to produce, and only a few people ever get the chance to taste one.
Inside are two tins of competition-level coffee, picked by you from three outstanding lots. Scroll down to meet them and choose the pair that appeals most. There’s no wrong answer.
A Christmas gift for the person who loves their coffee and is hard to impress, and who will never have tasted anything quite like it.

What is score?
The SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) is the global body that sets the standards for specialty coffee. Their scoring system, based on a 100-point scale, evaluates coffees based on factors like aroma, flavour, acidity, body, aftertaste, sweetness, and balance. Coffees scoring 80+ are considered specialty grade, with those scoring 86+ representing the top tier of quality and complexity.
Blends do not receive an official score because they combine coffees from multiple origins to achieve a balanced and consistent flavour profile. However, we only use coffees that score 85+ to ensure high quality in every blend.
What is a blend?
A blend is a combination of coffees from different regions, farms, or cooperatives, carefully selected to create a harmonious and well-rounded flavour profile. Unlike single origin coffees, which highlight the distinct characteristics of one place, blends are crafted to achieve consistency, balance, and complexity across seasons.
What are tasting notes?
Tasting notes describe the natural flavours found in the coffee, such as chocolate, citrus, or floral tones. These are not added flavours but arise from the bean’s variety, growing conditions, and roasting process. In blends, tasting notes are carefully curated by combining coffees that complement and enhance each other.
What is the processing method?
This refers to how coffee beans are removed from the cherry after harvesting, which influences their final taste. Because blends contain coffees from multiple origins, they may feature different processing methods, such as washed, natural, or honey, contributing to their unique depth and complexity.

Cerro Azul, Colombia (SCA 90.8)
Cerro Azul belongs to Café Granja La Esperanza, one of the most renowned coffee farms in the world. It sits on a steep peak above Trujillo in Valle del Cauca, at 1,700 to 2,000 metres, and grows nothing but Geisha, brought from Panama in 2008 to make it one of the first Geisha farms in Colombia. The slopes are covered in cloud until early afternoon and colourful lichen, and the natural process dries the whole cherry slowly for a cup of jasmine flower, grapefruit and melon.
Las Margaritas, Colombia (SCA 91.2)
The highest-scoring coffee we’ve ever roasted comes from another Café Granja La Esperanza farm, one of the most renowned in the world. Las Margaritas is in Caicedonia, Valle del Cauca, where a brook runs through misty slopes and creates a microclimate all its own. The variety is Sudan Rume, which is rare, and the natural process is pushed to the limit of what’s possible. In the cup you’ll find apricot, mint and blueberry.
Finca Zarza, Colombia (SCA 90.8)
Finca Zarza is a six-hectare family farm in the Brussels Mountains of Huila, run by Jhonatan Gasca, who once dreamed of being a professional footballer. His fermentation experiments have made him one of Colombia’s most talked-about producers, and one of his lots was part of the winning routine of the 2025 World Barista Champion, Jack Simpson. This Pacamara natural ferments in sealed bags for 150 hours, then dries on African beds for two weeks. The cup is juicy and tropical, with kiwi, pineapple and strawberry.
